E-Safety is about safety with mobile and computer devices. It stands for electronic safety. Padnell Infant School takes an active role in E-Safety to support children in being safer when using new technologies. There are a great many resources available to help children and parents adopt safe practices.

CEOP (Child Exploitation and Online Protection) is run by the police and links into helpful videos and websites such as Think You Know which has videos about Jessie and Friends which may be helpful for your children to watch.

The Digital Parenting website and magazines offer parents information and advice about the latest digital technologies and the kind of challenges children and teenagers might face in their digital world. Our Expert View articles, ‘How to’ guides and Take Action checklists will help you to stay up-to-date and feel more confident about getting involved.

Childnet International is another site that gives access to a unique interactive e-safety guide for parents and carers. It's designed to really help you as a parent or carer keep up to date with how children are using the internet, and support them in using these new exciting services safely and responsibly. This website is an information and resources website which aims to raise awareness about child sexual abuse, answer questions and give adults the information, advice, support and facts, they need to help protect children.  Read the ‘Smartie the Penguin’ stories, and ‘Digiduck’ stories with your children, to help them to learn about using the internet. The Digiduck® and Smartie the Penguin collections have been created to help parents and teachers educate children aged 3 - 7 about how to keep safe when online.  

Always watch any videos yourself first before sharing them with your children to ensure that they are appropriate to the age of your child.

Our online safety expert, Lee Haywood, is passionate about improving people’s understanding of what their children are using. He regularly visits the school to deliver online safety workshops with the children, and support staff and parents with helping children to stay safe when online.
