Year 2 Trip to Sea City Museum

15th November 2023

Our topic next half term is “Titanic”. In order to consolidate our learning we have arranged a trip to the Sea City Museum in Southampton

The children will travel by coaches which will be fitted with seatbelts. All children will require a packed lunch (no chocolate or sweets). As usual, we are asking that these lunches are sent into school using a recycled brown paper bag which will be provided for you. This enables all rubbish to be thrown away. Please ensure there is a drink included. This can be accessed throughout the day and should be in your child’s named school water bottle. For trips only, it is acceptable for this to be juice or squash (no fizzy drinks).

We shall be leaving school by 9.15am and return in time for children to be collected from their classrooms as usual. They will not need any spending money and will not need to bring their book bags to school on the day. The children need to wear school uniform with sensible footwear and a coat appropriate for the day’s weather.

We have negotiated with the coach company to obtain the best price possible. We are asking you for a voluntary contribution of £16.68 which includes the admission cost and workshops at the Museum. We do hope you will recognise this is very good value and hope you will be able to support us with meeting the cost of the trip.

Please make an online payment via your Scopay account by Wednesday 8th November, ensuring you click the permission box and if you would like Hc3S to provide a packed lunch, which will consist of a sandwich of the day, biscuit and a piece of fruit, ensure you tick the “School Packed Lunch” box.

If sufficient contributions are not paid, we will have to cancel the trip and return any monies paid. We also need to inform you that should your child not be able to attend for any reason, we are unable to offer a refund as the school will still be charged.
